Seamus Egan-Elliot BA, Kinesiology and Health Science; CSCS
Born and raised in Toronto, Seamus is new to Vancouver Island. Having tons of family on the West Coast, he has always considered BC his second home. He spent his youth competing in hockey and track and field, then went on to compete in track at the University level with York University in Toronto, where he graduated with a BA in Kinesiology and Health Science. At an early age, Seamus fell in love with strength training and energy system development, but it was not until he learned the scientific principles of exercise physiology, while completing his Kinesiology degree, that he fully appreciated the need to not only train hard, but to train smart, in order reach peak athletic performance. This, along with a string of his own athletic injuries, from knees to Achilles tendon, is what persuaded Seamus to dedicate himself to learn and teach the best methods to stay healthy while training at a high level.
After graduating in 2012, Seamus quickly became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Since that time, he has gained a wealth of experience working with athletes from a variety of sports. Having spent a year working with Gary Roberts in his renowned off-season program for hockey players, Seamus learned from some of the best coaches and had the opportunity to work with some of the best athletes in the world (NHL, NCAA, OHL). In addition to working with hockey players, Seamus has worked to help prevent injuries and improve performance for professional, college, and youth athletes in sports such as basketball (NBA, NCAA, CIS), soccer (NCAA, CIS), lacrosse (NLL, NCAA, JR), tennis, and track & field.
