Jalin Couper
Certified Athletic Therapist
Jalin Couper joins the Prime’ Sport Performance & Therapy team as an Athletic Therapist. She has a Degree in Athletic Therapy from Camosun College in Victoria, a Bachelors of Science Human Kinetics Degree from the St Francis Xavier University and is a Certified Athletic Therapist with the Canadian Athletic Therapists’ Association. From an early age, Jalin spent a lot of time watching sports with her family, which led her to develop her passion to become part of a team. Now she is bringing this passion to the sidelines and into the treatment room.
Jalin has worked in a wide variety of therapeutic settings as an Athletic Therapist and has worked with athletes at all levels of sport. She specializes in performance-driven rehabilitation and has had, and continues to have the opportunity to travel internationally while working with world class athletes. This has given her the opportunity to further her knowledge and she now works with multiple teams, often finding herself on the field with Rugby, Football and Soccer, or at the rink with Lacrosse and Hockey teams. She enjoys working with clients from all backgrounds and abilities to collaboratively improve everyday function, empowering them to guide their own health and well being into resuming their healthy lifestyle.
Jalin’s own history with sports was quite varied. To name a few, she has played ringette, hockey, volleyball and field hockey, and it was a rare night that she was not at a rink, pitch or court. To this day not much has changed and now instead of wearing a jersey, she’s there caring for and ensuring that athletes of all levels have access to the medical care they require.
Jalin is looking forward to working closely with the rest of the Prime Team in order to provide the highest standard of care. Her goal is to not only treat and rehabilitate injuries, but to also help the patient prevent further injuries, ultimately helping them optimize their performance.

Seamus Egan-Elliot
BA, Kinesiology and Health Science; CSCS
Born and raised in Toronto, Seamus is new to Vancouver Island. Having tons of family on the West Coast, he has always considered BC his second home. He spent his youth competing in hockey and track and field, then went on to compete in track at the University level with York University in Toronto, where he graduated with a BA in Kinesiology and Health Science. At an early age, Seamus fell in love with strength training and energy system development, but it was not until he learned the scientific principles of exercise physiology, while completing his Kinesiology degree, that he fully appreciated the need to not only train hard, but to train smart, in order reach peak athletic performance. This, along with a string of his own athletic injuries, from knees to Achilles tendon, is what persuaded Seamus to dedicate himself to learn and teach the best methods to stay healthy while training at a high level.
After graduating in 2012, Seamus quickly became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Since that time, he has gained a wealth of experience working with athletes from a variety of sports. Having spent a year working with Gary Roberts in his renowned off-season program for hockey players, Seamus learned from some of the best coaches and had the opportunity to work with some of the best athletes in the world (NHL, NCAA, OHL). In addition to working with hockey players, Seamus has worked to help prevent injuries and improve performance for professional, college, and youth athletes in sports such as basketball (NBA, NCAA, CIS), soccer (NCAA, CIS), lacrosse (NLL, NCAA, JR), tennis, and track & field.

Kylee Watchel
BHK, Practicing Kinesiologist, Fascial Stretch Therapist, Joga Certified
I am a kinesiologist, personal trainer, coach, former athlete, and passionate of all things fitness, health, wellness, sport, and nutrition related. I love working with clients and helping them become stronger, perform at their best, have more confidence in the gym, increase their mobility & flexibility and supporting healthy lifestyle habits. I love helping people reach that next level in their physical fitness, as well as helping with the translation from the gym into improved performance in elite sport or recreational activities.
Participating in sports myself growing up, as well as always having a interest in fitness, health and wellness, I decided to study Kinesiology at Red Deer College. While I was there I worked with both their Queens Basketball & Kings Hockey as a student under the athletic therapist. Finishing up my two years there I moved to a rural town to work for Alberta Health Services as a therapy assistant for a year and a half and then moving to Kelowna to finish my degree. While in Kelowna I worked with Crash Conditioning for a summer, working under a strength and conditioning coach with elite hockey players. Working in fitness throughout my degree I eventually graduated from University of British Columbia Okanagan with my Bachelor of Human Kinetics and specializing in the Clinical Exercise Physiology stream in 2018. Since graduating I have been doing a number of things including working as a exercise specialist in cardiac rehabilitation, coaching “CrossFit” type classes & bootcamps, and training hockey teams before deciding to move to Nanaimo to work for CBI as a kinesiologist. Along the way I have also got certifications in JOGA, which is a athletic yoga, as well as Fascial Stretch Therapy.
Using my knowledge and my practical background I help clients get stronger, move well, recover from injury, and help to improve overall health. Most importantly finding ways to make fitness enjoyable, attainable and realistic for someone looking to add these healthy habits in their lives and take their fitness to the next level. I am passionate about strength and conditioning and not only helping athletes get stronger but to recover and aid in mobility and flexibility improvement to help with performance. I am excited to join the Prime team and continue working with athletes & people looking to take their fitness to the next level!

Elyse Cordery
200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training and Aerial Yoga Certifications
Elyse first discovered Yoga in 2008 after undergoing surgery, her doctor recommended Yoga as a form of physical activity to help her body recover. After 3 months she fell in love with not only the physical benefits of Yoga but the emotional effects introducing her to new perspectives and new confidence to try new things.
In 2014 she decided to travel to India to obtain her 200 hr YTT certificate at the Himalayan Yoga Valley Ashram, not intending to become a teacher but for personal development. While traveling she became connected to Clayton Smith owner of Prime Sports Performance & Therapy who was looking for a yoga teacher to help with the development of his athletes. Feeling excited about this connection she decided to give Yoga teaching a go and fell in love with it after her first class. A few years into her teaching career she traveled to Hawaii and obtained her Aerial Yoga Certification. She then began studying the healing techniques of Lomi Lomi massage and began offering massages from her home. Elyse teaches a combination of a vigorous vinyasa flow, and a gentle yin/yang flow with creative sequencing, intention, uplifting music and calming energy. She helps her students to create more space internally allowing for healing and creativity to enter.
